5-star luxury on the French Riviera

At McMillan Furniture we work with hotel owners, interior designers, architects and procurement professionals on hotel projects all over Europe. Following a rigorous tender process, we were appointed by Global Hotels to supply all furniture, fittings and equipment for the Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa. Our scope included supplying furniture for the hotel’s 59 bedrooms, spa, bistro and lounge as well as outdoor and public areas.

The property itself is a 5-star resort located just outside the village of Théoule-Sur-Mer, 10 miles from Cannes. It is a sister property to the boutique Yaktsa Hotel which is located less than a mile away from the Miramar Beach.

The project in a nutshell

59 bedrooms, 180 uniquely designed items and over 1,500 pieces of furniture;
this is our project in a nutshell.

The property Owned and operated by Global Hotels, the Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa is located just
outside the village of Théoule-Sur-Mer, 10 miles from Cannes. This new property is the sister hotel to the boutique Yaktsa Hotel, located less than
a mile away from the Miramar Beach.

The brief Working alongside design agency Magna Design, we were tasked with evoking the design of the Yaktsa but on a grander scale. It was our job to manufacture, source and manage the installation of all furniture, fittings and equipment for the property.

The scope The Miramar has 59 bedrooms including 6 Junior Suites and a 221 square metre Royal Suite. It was within our scope to deliver all furniture, fittings and equipment for these rooms and for the property's spa, bistro, lounge and reception areas.

Technical design Our team worked closely with Magna Design to take their concepts and turn them into production-ready CAD visuals, 3D visualisations and sample pieces. Over 180 products were uniquely designed, from cushions & curtains through to wardrobes, writing desks and garden cabanas.

Manufacture and procurement McMillan managed every element of the procurement and manufacture process. Over the duration of the project 1,500 bespoke pieces of furniture, 500 lights and almost 1,000 cushions and throws were sourced for the Miramar from the UK, Europe, North Africa, Indonesia and China.

Installation and management Our team was on-site at the Miramar for the duration of the fit-out, coordinating up to 25 staff and subcontractors at any one time and liaising with the client as the project progressed through the final snagging and launch phases. The Miramar successfully opened its doors, on time, in April 2014.

"McMillan were involved throughout the whole project. They provided a very competitive tender response and were one of the few companies who could offer a full package solution."

- Iain MacLeod, Magna Design -

"Not only did McMillan manufacture bedroom case goods and public area furniture to the client’s specification they also managed all other FF&E suppliers and took care of all delivery and installation issues."
